Researching sound mixers

This timeline is for a trailer for 'The Woman In Black' -  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7lReemWmO5o
As you can see, from the timeline above, in this trailer the sound varies between a soundtrack, voice over and sound effects. No dialogue from the film is included in this trailer. Sound effects and voice over are used mostly throughout this trailer, I feel that the voice over gives the greatest effect as it is a unique idea to use in a trailer. This is something I may consider for my horror film trailer when planning. The sound effects used such as wind, dinging of children's toys, heavy breathing, thunder and lightning and rain all give a gloomy and terrifying feel to the film thus reflecting the horror genre. I will experiment with a variety of different sound effects to create an overall spooky feel to my horror trailer.

This timeline is for a trailer for 'The House At The End Of The Street' - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Xd2ceHDd-g
As you can see, from the timeline above, in this trailer the sound varies largely between dialogue from the film, sound effects and soundtrack. No voice over is included in this trailer. Sound effects are used the most throughout this trailer, these sound effects are; heavy breathing, smashing of glass, screams, ticking of a clock, creaking of doors, slamming of doors, door bell and laughing of children. These sound effects coupled with the soundtrack used in this trailer builds tension and suspense, making the reader feel on edge. To make my trailer as effective as this one I will use a software known as 'Garage Band' to create a soundtrack best suited to my trailer, as well as experimenting with different sound effects.

This timeline is for a trailer for 'Creep' -
As you can see, from the timeline above, in this trailer the sound varies, similarly in 'The House At The End Of The Street', between dialogue from the film, sound effects and soundtrack. No voice over is included in this trailer. Soundtrack is used mostly throughout this trailer, infact in some places in the trailer there is no sound effects or dialogue, just a soundtrack. This gives a good effect as it helps you focus mainly on what you see, not what you hear. I think this is a creative way to present a trailer and I may consider reinterpreting it in my own trailer.
