In this post, the screenshots show a step by step guide of how I created my company logo 'TRIGGERED PRODUCTIONS'. I created this using a software on a MAC computer known as After Effects. I was able to construct this effect for my logo after researching different after effect tutorials on Youtube. This is the youtube tutorial which I followed in order to create my company logo.
To begin this, you must start with a plain black background like in the screen shot shown above.
This screenshot shows how I began adding the text to my logo. First I had to decrease the screen size to 33.3%. I then inserted my text using the text tool which is in the tool bar located at the top of the page. I then decided on a font colour and type. I decided with white as my font colour because this contrasts well with the black background and then selected 'impact' as my font as this is the one used in the tutorial and I think it looked bold. I think centred my font to the middle of the page. I then needed to create two more layers, I did this by selecting 'CTRL + D' twice.
This screenshot shows how I began to start adding the effects to my logo. To do this I selected my first layer and then went to 'Effects & Presets' located on the far right hand side of my page. In order to find the effect I needed I typed 'fast' into the search bar and 'fast blur' came up. I think clicked on this and dragged it onto my first text layer.
This screenshot shows the adjustments which I made to the effect I used. Firstly I adjusted the 'blurriness' from 0.0 to 2.0.
I then selected my second text layer and clicked and dragged another 'fast blur' effect on to this one. I then dragged a second effect on to this layer from my 'Effects & Presets' called 'CC Radial Fast Blur'. I then made adjustments to these effects too. I changed to fast blur from 0.0 to 4.0, I then adjusted the CC radial fast blur from 50.0 to 70.0 and then changed the zoom from standard to brightest, from the screenshot above you can see that this has made my text glow/shine more.
This screenshot shows how I began to animate my CC radial fast blur effect in order to my make my logo work. I began by selecting the stopwatch symbol on 'centre' and 'amount' of this effect which then added to two diamond shapes onto my timeline, these are known as 'keyframes'.
This screenshot shows how I adjusted the centre for my effect. The centre is used to show where the light for my logo will shine through. I did this in 3 stages. First I positioned the centre to the left hand side of my text. I then moved my timeline onto 1 second and then moved the centre to the middle of my text, then changed the amount to 85.0, this makes the light shine brighter at this point. I then moved my timeline to 2 seconds and positioned my centre at the right hand side of my text then changed the amount back to 70.0.
I then moved my timeline to 3 seconds and positioned my centre back to the middle of my text then adjusted the amount to 95.0 thus making the text very bright.
This screenshot shows I adjusted the effects throughout my timeline.
I then dragged my timeline to 4 seconds and adjusted the amount back down to 0.0 thus making it go back to the normal text giving the overall effect of my logo. I then selected 'F9', this is know as an 'easy ease keyframe' this slows my animation down giving it a smoother effect.
