In order to gather audience feedback I presented my film poster to my audience and explained the effect I was trying to give while creating it. I then provided a piece of paper and a pen to my audience and asked them to note 2 negative points and 2 positive points of my film poster to highlight specifically what they liked and what they did not like.
From the screenshots above you can see that some of my audience members found it difficult to find 2 positive points of my film poster showing that a lot of improvements need to be made. The negative points which my audience highlighted are that the blood on my models looked to fake therefore not making the fear and horror very convincing. Also, the audience found it difficult to link my film poster to the horror genre as they thought that my image was not gory enough. One audience member outlined that the poster did not stand out to them and therefore they would not be interested in it if it was to be a professional product and it would not persuade them to go and see the film. Overall, the negative points to my film poster links mainly to my main image as they felt it was not very effective and did not present the horror genre or make the film look very interesting. However, my audience also made some positive points to my film poster, these are: the font type of the main image was effective. This is a font type I am going to keep and use again in my final product because this is the same font I used for my magazine cover and this got the same positive reaction from my audience. One member of my audience commented that the slogan for my film 'Never trust a neighbour' was very creative. Another member of my audience said that they liked the blood splatter on the bottom of the page.
From the feedback I have collected I can see that a lot of improvements need to be made to my film poster, I will therefore use this feedback and brainstorm so more new ideas for my final film poster. I will also reshoot my photography for my film poster and see if I can create the film poster which I originally wanted to make but could not due to photograph positioning and difficulties.
