Shown below is a step by step guide of how i created and constructed my final magazine cover after receiving my audience feedback. I was able to make these changes and improvements using a software called Photoshop.
After collecting audience feedback a lot of my audience members had made it clear that my magazine cover looked too plain and was too spacious. In order to improve this I decided to add more sell lines. The screenshot above shows how I began to add further sell lines. This sell line reads "New releases" and lists 4 new films now available to the public. In order to make this sell line stand out I decided to put a coloured box around each film name, in order to do this i used the rectangle tool and fill tool provided in Photoshop.
This screenshot shown above shows the further sell lines which I added.
This screenshot shows further sell lines which I added. It also shows how I began to experiment with different colour palettes. I felt just using two colours was also another reason why my magazine cover looked so plain so I decided to include black as well, therefore making a colour palette of white, red and black. I decided to use these colours as they are commonly used in professional products of the horror genre.
I then began to add my final sell line. Then after researching further into professional products I decided to add a skyline, issue number and release date to make my product look more professional.
After making all of my changes I still felt that my magazine cover was not very effective, I therefore decided to take one of the images which I had used on one of my three film posters and transfer it onto my magazine cover, this made my magazine look a lot more professional and linked better to the horror genre.
