However, after creating this I felt it was too plain and boring, therefore I decided to try and re-create one of the other intertitles which I researched from the horror film trailer 'Smiley' (shown below).
I decided to use intertitles similar to this one in my trailer because I think that the red, black and white work well together, especially the red and black as they connote blood and darkness therefore linking it well to the horror genre.
This screenshot shows how I began to create my new intertitles for my trailer. First i had to decide on a background, I went with black as this is what was used in the professional product which I used as a guide while creating my intertitles.
From this screenshot you can see that I then started to add my text. But first i had to decide on a font, the font which I used was called 'Optimus Princeps' I downloaded this from www.dafont.com. I selected this font as I felt it was simple but still effective.
This screenshot shows how I then began to position my text.
From this screenshot you can see that I then began to change the colours of my text. I decided to use red as it was effective on the professional product in connoting horror therefore I thought it would also be effective on my product.
After adding my text and changing my font colour I decided that it still looked a bit too plain, therefore I decided to give the text which reads 'friends' a 'stroke' to make it look more bold.
After giving my text a 'stroke' I decided to start experimenting with different effects on Photoshop and decided to give the text which reads 'friends' an outer glow as well, this is so it stands out to my audience and also gives it a bit of a spooky and creepy feel to it.
To finish off my intertitles I decided to change the text which reads 'Two' to a light shade of grey as I felt the colour white was a bit too bright.
My new intertitles for my final trailer product are shown below:
In order to make my trailer more effective I have created my last intertitle differently.
This screenshot shows how I began to create my final intertitle. I began by making my background black, similarly to the other intertitles which I have made.
In order to make it different to my other two intertitles I decided to add a 'blood splatter' effect to the background, I downloaded this blood splatter from www.cgtextures.com. In order to place this effect onto my background I have to use the 'magic wand' tool available on Photoshop to select all of the blood and then drag it across.
I then positioned the blood splatter where I wanted it and added my text. For my text I decided to use the same font in this intertitle as I did in my others so that they link together. I then positioned my text where I wanted it to be.
I then decided to change the font colour of my text to a light grey as I felt the white was too bright.
This is my final intertitle:
